Week No. 12: Creativity of Lesson Plan

September 12, 14, 19, 2012

Since lesson plans are to be used as guides of the teachers, it may come to a point that only one lesson plan use for a certain lesson from one class to another. Or even one lesson plan use from one school year to another. Some students may get bored for the same type of lesson plan with same procedure, same materials. As teacher, we have to be creative in making our lesson plans, particularly in the procedure part. As part of the procedure, teacher must not forget to motivate the student in taking up the lesson.

In making lesson plans the teacher must have: the knowledge (if possible superior) of the subject matter; knowledge about the students’ interests, weakness, strengths and etc.; familiarity with different strategies in teaching; material ready to use; understanding of objectives.

Varying or putting some creativity in a lesson plan is advisable since it will lessen the boredom of the students.
